is studying biology a good path to work with animals in the wild?

I would have love to be a veterinarian but no..
I would rather work in the wild...like frogs and figuring out how to better the environment...
so it can be with amphibians, reptiles and mammals...I am asking for the bachelors but what master will be good for a biology major considering this?

I cant study Zoology since the college is too far off and I cant afford leaving to college.
