Is Steven Seagal a good actor?

I have seen him in three movies now (The Foreigner, On Deadly Ground, and one more I forgot the title of...)

These movies are quite similar, 200 people are killed in each one, the acting is terrible, and the plot is either not there or makes no sense.

But I think he used to be quite popular.
Anyone still like him?

He's in the same league as Dolph Lundgren, Van Damme, Vin Diesel, The Rock etc... Make of that what you will. The alternative Rat Pack (on steroiRAB)

Surely the answer is obvious..................NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!

Seagal was a member of the American Special Services. I think he drifted into acting when he quit the Service.

Some of his films are quite entertaining - "Under Seige", "Nico" etc............but an actor he sure as heck ain`t.

In the last couple of years his films have turned a bit preachy about the environment etc and he himself has ballooned in size. He`s lost it..........if he ever had it! :D

Seagal has made some decent action films but his acting skill is virtually non existant and has about as much charisma as a loaf of brown bread. The likes of Out For Justice, Marked For Death, Under Siege were good but his recent material was absoutly awful (Exit WounRAB was one of the worse films I have seen for a long long time).

Marked for Death; Under Siege; On Deadly Ground - mildly entertaining, good - heck no

Acting - not exactly his strong point, but that isn't why people watch his films, action; fighting and more fighting, The End!

Steven Seagal an ACTOR No way.

All the guy can do is martial arts. Some of his films are good but only for the martial arts sequences and not for Seagal's acting skills. Whenever the guy talks he sounRAB like he is reading the lines he is given. He is same as other action heroes such Dolph Lundgren , Jean Claude Van Damme etc who only got a chance in action movies because of their fighting skills

No! I can't watch a movie he is in, he just sucks as an actor, worse than Van Damme, Sylvestor Stallone and even Mel Gibson! Glad he's not around that much and just sticks to brainless action flicks...

All the films of Steven Seagal prior to him ballooning were top drawer entertainment regardless of his lack of acting skill.
His martial arts technique was the best since Bruce Lee and made up for his lack of acting skill.
