Is soccer a hard sport for a child to learn?

Nope, not at all. I started playing around that age and I know some people who started when they were 4. It's probably one of easiest sports to learn. There isn't a lot of skill required compared to other sports like hockey where you need to learn how to skate, handle a puck, shoot, etc. He'll probably have a lot of fun!

No sport is hard to learn unless it requires special skills like knowing how to skate(hockey). If you are wondering if its hard to master or become good at then yes/no. Anyone who practices enough can become good and at your nephews age MOST childrens skills are about the same no matter when they started. You don't need to worry about your nephew being shunned or something like that.

one of the easiest sport when young, i started at the age of 4.
and im still playing today and im 16 now.. and playing for the school

hell no. at 7, the kids are still learning the rules and how to play as a team. sign him up now before its too late. as long as he has good stamina, then he should be alrite. the foot skills come as you play more and more.

My younger brother started at 5. I started at 6 or 7 and stopped because I broke my finger when a ball kicked it. It's not that hard even though I don't play anymore. He could try lacrosse?
