Is smoke from fires bad for the environment ?

Burning anything creates pollution (carbon dioxide is a form of pollution since it's a greenhouse gas). That being said, as long as you aren't burning huge quantities, it's not necessarily bad. Propane probably burns cleaner, but is nonrenewable while wood is. Up to you, but I'd say burn wood if you want to have a fire. Remember, everything in moderation!

Hello everyone :)
I was just wondering :
Is smoke from natural fires (just a match and wood) bad for the environment?
Does it make a difference if you use propane ?

THANK YOU !

Is smoke from fires bad for the environment ? Yes of course it is. Wood fire puts allot of soot into the air as well as CO2 and other pollution. Propane and natural gas burn much cleaner than wood.

The more fires that start, the more carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide is released. The Ozone layer is made of some greenhouse gases. Too much of those gases, however, and the ozone layer thins out, letting harmful UV rays from the sun through in larger mounts than usual.

I'm saying, yes, smoke from fires is harmful.

Moderation helps. I can agree the the post above me.
