Is six months a long time to chat?

So, I met this guy (this older guy) on FB a while ago and we've been chatting every night for six months. I don't need to be told that this is weird (believe me I know and I'm not even attracted to him we are just, what we call "chat buddies") Is six months considered a long time to be consistently chatting with someone?
