is shutter island a good related text for extension english crime fiction?

i need to find two related texts for extension english, and for my film one i want to use shutter island. i know that an investigation of a crime takes place, but I need to investigate myself, based on the text, how crime writing has evolved and challenged conventions. please suggest from these if the movie would be good as a related text.
