is shadow the hedgehog an android?

at the ending of sonic adventures 2, sonic and shadow go up to space as there Super forms,they manage to get something going to earth outa the way with kaos control,sonic is safe but shadow uses about all his force and plummets down to earth and dies,BUT in sonic heroes he comes back inside a something all the androids are in. except its in the center of one room,and the androids are all in one room,this could mean hes the original since hes separated, but he cant seem to remember anything.after sonic heroes "shadow the hedgehog" came out,some endings say that shadow is an android,but they are not the "correct ending". in the correct ending they tell you how they made shadow,doctor eggman even says that he is the original ,not a fake,im not sure but i think that dr.eggman says that he was inside that container the androids the clones where in since hes saved shadow(from sonic adventure 2) and put him inside there to rest,and then sonic heroes come in.it could be possible that he is the original or android.i say hes the original but im not 100 % sure,so does anyone know what he is?
