is riding a bike a good way to stay in shape?

well i have been riding my bike aboutt 2 miles each night for a few days. i know i am just starting out lol, but do you think this is a good way to keep in shape for basketball season? i have recently injured my foot so thats why im on my bike in the first place. thanks!! :]]
 
Of course! If you are injured, cycling is one of the only non-impact activities you can do outside and build stamina (Cardio) and leg strength. You may want to add in some weights for your upper body so you keep your shooting arms strong. You don't need a lot but using 5lbs to 10lbs dumbbells will help out.
If you don't mind staying indoors, go swimming. This will work out your whole body and keep your cardio in check. Get better soon!
