Is religious 'thought' caused by biology or environment?

humans have not split into two different species. Religious thought is caused by combination of factors like atheist thought.

possibly both...

those children that listen to their parents, are more likely to survive and procreate. those that don't are more likely to die. (i.e. look both ways before crossing the street, don't touch the hot stove). so if the parents are religious, the children's gene's will tell them to be religious too. So it is partially both.

Of course we know culture and peers have a huge influence on religion. Just look at a map of the religions and where they are located in the world. All like minded people live in the same vicinity.

Not so long as religious and non-religious continue to inter-breed.

The nature vs. nurture question is like many others: the answer is both.

No, we are not 2 distinct species. We are all a combination of both making us each individuals. We all have our own unique DNA and fingerprints... doesn't that tell you something? No one is exactly alike. We are products of our creator, our minds, our parents and our environment.

I'd say biology, but considering environment molds species into what they are, it would be the environment. The weird thing is, humans have enough power to manipulate their own environment. This would be basically asking, what does thought come from?
