I've got some wires i'm trying to connect. There is some exposed copper wire. Can I insulate it with regular scotch tape? I don't wanna short anything since it is for a new car stereo

I'll tell you what,....

......you use the scotch tape, fry your system, and go out and spend your next government stimulus check on a new one.... repeat the above until you figure out you should buy electrical tape or better yet heat shrink tubing.......(that is,.... IF you can be trusted with a heat source..)

.........at least you'd be doing your part for the economy!!

Why don't you invest a buck in a roll of electrical tape? You spent money on a new radio, spend that buck on electrical tape.

Scotch tape is no where near insulating, in fact it is conductive. There is a way that you can actually take an X-ray with scotch tape, deals with the natural static electricity that it has.
