Is {Rec} any good?

Martyrs is one of my top films that I am looking forwarRAB to!! Only at French cinemas at the moment I believe, only place here that showed it was Fright Fest like you said. :( Hurry up and show it here!! I believe Dimension Extreme(title?) is going to release it on their dvd collection on Region 1 sometime, don't know when.
 
As far as i am aware, its still to actually get its cinema release in both this country and in the States, it wouldn't surprise me if Dimension Extreme release it over in the States though, Frontier(s) and Inside have both been cult status on the rental and retail market over there.
 
Rec is a brilliant film. I've watched it several times and think it is really effective.

However I watched Quarantine the other day and was so disappointed. Dreadful. The acting is terrible (especially Jennifer Carpenter) and for some reason the action seems so more confused.. It actually bored me!
 
Yeah, this film rocked. I watched Diary of the Dead the other day and it was absolute crap compared to Rec. Romero should retire already before he becomes more of a disaster.

How predictable America would remake something yet again because they can't come up with anything original. I saw the American trailer and l can tell its going to be a load of crap, acting wise. Whoever gives Quarantine revenue are the people who watches High School Musical for a living. Also, that Jennifer Carpter hasn't got a patch on the adorable Manuela Velasco.

And Rec 2 is in the works! Yay!
 
Ha ha! I knew she reminded me of someone!

Seriously though, she was just terrible in Quarantine. Irritating and much screamier than the lovely Manuela Velasco from the original.

The direction was awful too. I thought it was supposed to be a shot for shot remake but I found Quarantine to be a confusing mess, whereas even in Spanish (and my Spanish isn't great) I had a far better idea of what was going on.
 
I liked the original actress but her screaming and whining put me off her a bit, I read the actress in the remake is even worse...



There is another Zombie movie coming out from him I believe.
 
I just finished wacthing this and I'm very shaken, I had to pause it a few times to clam myself. It was , hanRAB down, the greatest scary movie I've seen. It kept you guessing the whole time and unlike most scary movies this film didn't seem to have any survivors (I could be worng it was a little hard to understand due to poor lighting in the film and the subs). Apart from that it was realy good. It's a shame that the remake could quite possibly be really bad and put people off seeing this.
 
Apparently called "Island Of The Dead".

Featuring aquatic zombies according to some insider who made a set report to bloodydisgusting.com, which has already turned me off to wanting to see it.
 
I really liked REC although more in the 28 Days Later theme rather than traditional Zombie movie, I thought the DVD was supposed to be dubbed into English? (I watched a download and subs don't bother me anyway). Quarantine isn't as good.
 
...and she features A LOT in the extras, another good reason for buying the DVD!

I enjoyed the film, the only thing that was slightly annoying for me was the burst of loud rock music over the end credits.
