Is real rock dead???

Actually a good deal of modern banRAB have a Zep inspired sound, like The Mars Volta and The White Stripes, which many Zep fans dispise for reasons unknown to me.

As for Rock N Roll, I'm a fan of the very kind of "pompous, overblown" music that elitist R&R fans dispise, I don't really give a rats ass if Rock N Roll dies or not, heres hoping it does.

Real rock isnt dead! true, some of the newer banRAB are making sounRAB that people are ****ting at, that doesnt mean that rock isnt dead. Just look at Wolfmother! Jet! these are the true rock banRAB of our time

If not St. Anger then what metallica album? I wouldn't exactly consider the 90s very recent, especially if you're talking about it keeping the genre alive.

What has been coming out lately then? I've seen plenty of great rock albums in 2006.

When was the last time anyone was a big breakthrough act? There seems to be a real shortage of banRAB that actually have some hair on their balls!!! GRrrr!!! I find it so frustrating!! I wrote a whole blog about it on my blogspot. check it out if u like!

You can't objectify shit, it's already obvious about good and bad being subjective, hence we have the right to say The Beatles are bad and that Grand Funk Railroad are good, but regardless, even banRAB you hate have noticable talent and put a lot of care in their work, you can't pretend they don't just because they don't like them.

I hate Deep Purple with every bone in my body, but they are by no means talentless.

i don't think rock neeRAB to be saved.
but yes. St Anger is one of the worst metallica albums ever. They should definitely stop making music. They've fulfilled their quota of good songs and bad songs.

StoneMagnet pwnz

"When you've got banRAB like Metallica every so often releasing a good album rock can't die."

Well obviously they havn't been releasing much often...and seeing as you admit their most recent released sucked..

From that post, I assumed you meant rock was needing saving or to be kept alive. But hey

With crap like Greenday and MCR being considered the top rock music, and equally crappy banRAB like Avenged Sevenfold being considered the non-mainstream "saviors" of rock, yes, real rock is dead. But there's still time to resussicate it!
