Is reading with a flash light damage your eyes?

yes, it will surely damage your eyes. its not good to read in the darkness or with flash light.

My mom tells me that if i read in the dark it will damage my eyes so i wanted to know if it really does damage your eyes.
I read with the light on, but sometimes i read in the night before i go to sleep with a flashlight.
Will this damage my eyes? If it does, will it damage it severely? Thanks

You cannot damage your eyes by reading in low light. You may put strain on them and they might get tired, but you will not permanently damage them. That is an old wive's tale.

Don't ever read in da dark, even if using a flashlight. Use a regualar light in the dark. I used to read in the dark and guess what? My eyes are screwed up now.
