Something tells me that I won't just be affected by racism in my little, high school student world.
There are only 4 black guys in my entire high school and I'm one of them. To make matters worst, I'm a social reject: I have no friends (at all), I play video games (it's all I do) and I just hate others. The main reason why I hate others is because I think they're all racists. They constantly make crude jokes about many "races", but specifically black people, around me. They're not hesitant to throw the "N" word around as if it were nothing. They often just say insulting, racially driven comments directly to me. I don't believe the other black guys (or girls, for that matter) are susceptible to this because they are more socially inclined than my awkward self.
Now, there are the students but also what constitutes the classes, mainly novels. I'm getting tired of seeing the term "n****r" or "Negroes" in almost every stupid book we read like To Kill a Mocking Bird or Of Mice and Men. It comes to the point that I smile every time I see the word in one of these "classic" novels. Now, I understand that those words are in there to represent the social realities of that time and other trash, but because of these words, the idiotic students in my class somehow get it into their head that "Hey, this is a socially acceptable word because it's in a book!" so they have fun saying these racist words over and over again.

So basically, I just want to know if I'll only have to endure this stupidity as long as I'm in High School or am I subjected to this for the remainder of my life, or until I leave this French-speaking country that is Quebec (I go to a French-speaking high school)?
