Is putting on some music and just dancing around a good form of exercise?

In comparison to something like cycling or running?

I want to start exercising more, and i'm not keen on jogging round the park. I sometimes do work out videos and dance videos, but what about taking out half an hour of the day to just jam to some music and dance around. Good calorie burner? Your views, exercise professionals and normal folk (:
