I hope to be a UCLA//NYU graduate
photography is one of my passions but due to a recent health diagnosis in which my hands shake so I cannot pursue a career in Photography. I am wondering if Professional Photo editor is a realistic job, or even a real job at all???? if you could help that'd be awesome as I am attending a dinner party with the deans of the schools mentioned above, and i'd like to be able to tell them the career i hope to pursue THANK YOUU :)

There are actually more 9-5 jobs for image manipulators than photographers.

Video Games
Advertising
Movies
Publishing, etc.

Just about every form of media needs someone who can generate graphics on demand for specialized projects.

"Job growth in Digital Graphics will progress at a rate of more than 30% by 2011, becoming the fastest growing careers in the U.S., according to the Dept. of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics" www.bls.gov

that is what they would call a graphic designer, it's really fun to do, you work with photoshop, illustrator, flash, dreamweaver, and other programs.
