I want to know if prior military service is needed for a president to be a good commander in chief. I have read some answers on this topic that say that some of our best presidents haven't served but when I think of the men most associated with being good presidents: George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, I see that they were all in the military. I also see people like Bill Clinton, who did not serve, reduced the size of the military leaving us weaker when we needed to be strong.
I am unsure and would love to hear everybody's opinons on the topic.
