An eye for photography is an understatement when it comes to being a professional photography. It takes much more than that. This is where schooling comes in; which you'll have to decide, 'is it worth it?' You'll not only need a good eye, but photography, lighting, and business classes as well. If you're determined, and can put up with an unstable income and FIERCE competition, go for it. If not, you should probably find something else to do.

i am in highschool and i want to be a photographer whaen i grow up. i want to know if it is really worth all the school. i am told that i have an eye for photography but i dont know

That's great that people are telling you that you have an eye for photography... the question is, who's telling you though???

Is it worth it? If you have real passion for photography then yes! For most people, it's just a phase. Make sure you really want to go into it before you go off to college and throw all that money away.

If you don't /want/ to put the effort in, then it won't be worth it at all.

I've liked photography since I was little, and only in the past year or so have I got myself a camera and started trying to improve. I take a class, and wanting to improve was probably one of the best choices I've made.
