Is our failing education system to blame for this kind of nonsense....?

"Please, we evolved from monkeys? Water just appeared on Earth? How did trees get here? We plant seeds don't we? What the Earth created seeds too? Wow, seems kinda far fetched. I'd much rather believe in a higher power (aka, God)"

It is sad to me that there are still people in the civilized world who believe this nonsense so wholeheartedly.

(This has just been posted by someone who thinks I should leave this website and find an "atheist" one instead).
Panda - yeah, I liked that. And I agree entirely :)

I have often considered this. Since Darwin´s theory of evolution was published, every scientific observation has supported the theory. In other words nothing has come along to cause the theory any problems, they have only added to it. Darwin was a religious man before his discovery. He later became depressed due to the realization that we are in fact alone. I wouldn´t want to force this stuff on anyone but it´s the most believable theory that I have heard.

In my opinion, why should we substitute missing facts for a God. Isn't that like making up a story to a child because the real one wouldn't make sense to them? That's like eating junk food to stay full.....it's food, but not the right kind of food. Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean that it's right to believe something that's been fabricated. Some people feel they need a God in order to understand the world because it fills in the 'blanks'......but does it? Not really. People are logical beings, and when logic doesn't work sometimes imagination takes over, that's natural, and it can be good if helps us get to a logical answer.

There are many reasons why our education system sucks. Religion is one of them. American ignorance and "superiority" is another. Bad teachers, etc.
