is orion's belt between jupiter and venus?

i've been looking in the nightsky and i see this very bright thing in the sky which appears to be a very bright star, which i'm assuming is venus, to the other side of orion's belt however, i see a rather blue-tinted thing that twinkles a lot compared to almost anything else in the nightsky, which i'm assuming is jupiter. if that first thing i mentioned was venus but that blue-tinted star-like thing in the sky is NOT jupiter, then where is jupiter in relation to venus and orion's belt?

please read the whole post before you post your response, thank you.
