Is my Xbox 360 is weird?

When i play CoD 4 online for 3 hours. The game disc start so loud.

when i go to Dashboard the game disc start quiet.

No my xbox sounds like popcorn popping in a microwave. These things are all loud.

Is your 360 oriented vertically? It's been a problem with some Xbox 360s that if you orient like that and do not play your game off the HDD so the disc drive has to go to work it makes a loud buzzing sound.
