I'm buying a used fish tank that leaks from one corner. At the store, they sell a fish tank sealant that is just silicone, I think. At home, we got several rolls of silicone and one of those small guns that heat it to make crafts and other projects. My question is, is this type of silicone good enough to fix the tank or do I need to buy the "special" stuff from the pet store? Somebody told me that silicone is just silicone, and they name it something else just to overprice it. How true is this?
