about 4 months ago my catylitic converter went bad. i took all the inside of it out (dumb idea) and then reinstalled it. then reinstalled the rear o2 sensor into the cat. well moments later my check engine light came on. thinking it was the obvious cause of no guts in the cat i shrugged it off... (another dumb idea). well i got tired of wasting gas so i bought a new cat and had it installed, had the pcm cleared and re-used the same o2 sensor. now even with the new cat the check engine light is still on....... please help.... did i destroy my o2 sensor or (sensors) buy running my jeep on a rich mixture for the past 4 months with both front and rear o2 sensors receiving all that bad air mixture ...... and if so is the simple answer to just replace the REAR one or are BOTH the sensors bad now. .... (more info) i have a 1998 jeep wrangler and no i have not been able to check what codes it throws .... i am almost certain its the o2 sensors but not sure if its one or both....... and i now its hard to know what is really going on with out codes but based off of the information given gimmie your best diagnosis...... PLEASE
