Is my MTX amplifier broken or is it a wiring problem?

I have a late model MTX 150X2 Amp. I haven't had it hooked up for about a year or so. I just went to my trunk to test it out because I am putting a new stereo system in the car and I the red power light doesn't light up.

I did spark when I connected the 12V wire to the amp, my ground looked fine, but the one thing missing from the equation is the remote isn't connected to the stereo harness because the radio I installed after the initial one for the system was installed had no working a/v inputs.

Does the not connected remote wire make a difference? Could the simple ground wire be bad? I haven't used the amp for over a year and it just sits in the trunk mounted to my back seat, can the amp be broken?

Thanks for the help. I have a new stereo coming and woofers. I really don't want to buy a new amp too.

got to have a remote wire. to test it run a small wire off the remote side to the power side of the amp. this should make it come on. dont leave it this way cause the amp will stay on all the time and drain the batt.this should work. the radio uses the remote wire to tell the amp to come on. without that the amp will do nothing
