Is my honda civic tyre psi air pressure ok?

i have a 2000 plate honda civc. It had some alloys put on it which look bigger then the normal tyres for that civic. Now I left it on 32 psi but it seems that it pulls more petrol this way but i could just be paranoid.

1)Do you think i should up it if yes to what?
2)If I put it on 40 psi or something will it matter? Will any damage occur?
