I have a 4 GB Ipod and I have never had problems with it working. I always played it in my car through one of those FM/AM adapters you plug into your lighter. Well I just got some subs and a new head unit put into my car and now I am having problems. It is one of those MP3 player alpine head units where my Ipod connects in my glove box and I use the screen on the radio to switch songs etc. Well the other day it totally quit playing and I found out it was my ipod that quit playing. Everything on the screen works but it would not play. I did a reset and its playing now, but are there ways to prevent this in the future? Is my radio killing my ipod? Any in site would be appreciated thank you!

No your head unit is not damaging your IPOD. If you hit a bump just right your Ipod can lock up. You end up having to reset the Ipod and everything works as new again. This head unit is built to be use with the Ipod and will not damage it.
