Is my friend being weird?

so we go to school 3 hours away from home, and my friend has a huge apartment. I am moving out of my apartment on saturday to go home for the summer, and I asked her if I could store some of my stuff in her apartment for the summer (desk and a chair). She said no, because she doesn't feel comfortable.
wtf? is she being weird??
Neither of us are coming back this summer until september, so my stuff will literally just be in her apartment storage closet, which would not affect her even in the slighest!

Oh and the kicker is, in August I am moving into her building!!

No is not being weird. She doesn't what your stuff in her way. And don't want to be responsible for it too. So, rent out a storage place.
