I've had three goldfish for about some time. But one of them, the calico fantail, has a completely black eye, while the other one looks completely normal, just like the other two fish in the tank. Thing is, it didn't just TURN like this after it stayed in my tank-- when I bought it, it's eye was black. It couldn't have been my accidental doing, then. Does this mean that it's blind on that side? It seems to swim a little awkward at times, and I'm thinking that's the case. I don't know. Why do fish get black eyes, anyway? Is it just the way they were born?
