Is my fish dying? It is my fisr time. Please help!?

My son has recently received a goldfish which we keep in a bowl. I noticed today that the fish has white bumps on its body – they look like zits. The fish also spits out its food. Is there something wrong with the fish? And if so what should I do?
Please help!
 
It does sound like some form of parasites. Does it look like grains of salt all over it's body, if so it's ich? Can you take a picture?

If it's ich you can buy a medicine called quick cure that will get rid of the ich. A bowl really isn't a good home for a goldfish you should look into getting it a tank.
 
Your fish may have what is called Ich. It's kind of a parasite that can be caused by stress from changing into different environments, you can find over the counter medicine for the fish, that will treat it, but treating it alone will not only help, you will need to clean the bowl. I also suggest you check the pH in your water to make sure there isn't too much ammonia in it.
 
Yep i think you have a problem, i havent heard anything like that, but uh it sounds like it is having some major problems though. If they disappear just let the fish be.
