Is my chicken breask OK to eat?

I bought bonless skinless chicken breast from the store 2 days ago. The "Sell By" date is still 2 days from now. I opened the pack and cooked one, and replaced it in a zipper bag in the fridge. Are they still good thru the original sell-by date or should I freeze them just in case?

If you don't think you are going to use them up right away freeze them. You can pack them seperatly so you can thaw only what you need to use. They should be just fine if not used till the sell by date.

It 's the use by date you shoule be looking at.....never eat anything past it's useby date.

The sell by date is a guide to the store selling the item to know when to get it off the shelves.

They should be fine to eat, you could always cook the chicken and keep it in the fridge for up to three days

As long as it's well refrigerated you should be ok. But if you know now that you won't be using your other breast by the date, I would freeze it. Chicken is very perishable and sometimes it can go bad even before it's sell date.

Yes they are good thru the original seel by date, but if you aren;t going to eat them right away freeze them anyway then you have options instead. "Oh man I've got 5 chicken breasts to eat before the go bad tomorrow."
