Is my beta fish sick?

Its tale has recently fallen off.. like half of it is gone. the ends of it are now white, and i noticed recently that he has been at the bottom of the tank more than often.

Im worried.. its been like.. 3 weeks and his tale has not yet grown back. Is there anything i can do? ive also notived that.. his tale is starting to seperate.. meaning its stringy (like strands of hair.. idk how to explain) is it suppose to be like that? maybe i just never noticed it.

I take care of him very well. i wash his tank often, and feed him about 2-3 times a day.

I feel really bad for him :(
 
definatly fin rot, you need to go to the petstore and get medicine. ask a worker, they'll help you find the right stuff. its caused by bacteria so you should clean your tank more often, make sure you dont over feed your betta too cause uneaten food can create more bacteria too.
 
This would be fin rot, right now you should put in a air stone, raise the temperature to 82 degrees F, and use melafix.
