Dear Financial Aid Committee

My name is ___ and I’m writing to appeal my suspension from financial aid. I’ve realized that I had withdrawal from ____________ because I got in the situation to where I didn’t have the extra time to put into this class working on the field , I had failed to do well in _____ which is an online class and I came to figure out that that is not my learning style and I made a low passing grade in ____.
I am relatively new to the college experience and I admit there were points in time when I was overwhelmed, I do realize that I could have done better and that only I am responsible for my actions. I was also going through some personal problems that distracted me from my goals. I‘m a mother of two small children trying to keep the bills paid at home and be a full time student to educate myself into a better career and lifestyle for my family and self. I have entered into a program that doesn’t interested me like I had thought it would. That is were you’ll find my lowest grades to be.
I don’t have the means to pay for my education, I’m doing all I can to pay the bills and support my children with neither me or my husband working. My husband has been looking for a job and has one lined up and to began in march so that I can fully concentrate on school. Without financial aid I will not be able to continue my education in a degree of my choice.
In my classes ____ and in ____ I have made good grades so I have planned to change my study program, I have worked on my time management to balance out my family and study time. I will attend my classes and notify my professors a head of time if I do have to miss a lecture so that I do not fall behind on any of my courses. I plan on meeting with my counselor more often and take full advantage of any tutoring or any study groups, befriend more classmates to help with study. I’m willing to take classes over the summer semesters, I’ll do anything to bring my GPA back up. With the new year coming in means a new and fresh start for me.
I am dependent on financial aid to continue my education, and without it, I could not attend school. So I am asking you today, to please deem me worthy of a second chance. Please carefully consider reinstating my financial aid, so that I may progress on from those times of hardship towards an honest college education. Thank you for your time.
