Took car to mechanic for what seemed to be some sort of electrical short. Check engine light on, instrument cluster lights flickering, then going out, and blower motor surging (almost slowing to a stop, then suddenly blowing hard without touching anything) Was told there was a new starter on the car (I bought car used the year before, so if it was a new starter, I didn't have it put on). Was told the starter was fine, but the wire to the starter was shorting out. My options were to spend many labor hours and huge amounts of money trying to find exactly where the short is or bypass it and put a new wire from battery to starter. I opted for the cheaper way. Got car home, started and ran fine, but lights were still flickering. Driving home from work, turned blinker on and car stalled and wouldn't start. No clicking, whirring, or anything. Had it towed to Lincoln dealer. Next morning, dealer starts car like nothing was ever wrong with it. Dealer kept it for 4 days and car never acted up. He said he couldn't do anything unless he could duplicate the problem or catch it while it was happening. Drove car home, ran fine. Went out to go to work, Lights flickering, blower surging, all the same crap!!! Shut car off and it hasn't started since. Battery is brand new, posts are clean. fuses are all good. Tried to jump start it.....nothing. Tried to start it in neutral.....nothing. Where should I start?????
