Is my 12" l7 Kickers and rocker fosgate R500-1 amp compatible with eachother?

I thought I had a good setup until the person who installed my speakers had told me that my amp was barely kicking my subs to its full potential. The beats are nice but ever since he told me about how im not using my subs to its fullest, I've been paranoid and wondering if it could knock a whole lot harder then what I'm hearing now. Should I upgrade my amp? If so what kind of amp would you recommend? Im on a $200-250 budget.
 
that fosgate is barely enough to push ONE of them at their RMS power rating. In all honesty you should sell that fosgate, and invest in a Kicker 1500.1 amp or (2) 1000.1 amps. The L7's are beasts. Now you need to know what ohm subs you have as this will determine whether you need the single amp or dual amp, as the amps work best at a 2 ohm load. If you have the dual 2 ohm models then you can get the 1500.1, if the dual 4 ohm models then you need the 2 amps.
