Is life in the army better than the navy? or is the navy life better than the army?

Im tossed up between the navy and army
im interested in being a Hospital Corpsman in the navy and a Nurse in the army
but i dont know which life i want so far
what offers a better life?

Personally, they are not that far apart. Both has their pros and cons.
I would research more about both military branches and compare which fits your intrest more.
 
If you enter the Navy, you will have the opportunity to go to many countries, including Iraq.
If you enter the Army, you will have the opportunity to go to either Germany, at Landstuhl, or to Iraq.
Better life? Toss a coin. I believe the Navy HM practices more medicine than an Army Nurse, but I could be dead wrong on that. It's just that many Corpsmen are independent duty, especially by the time they're E-6. On board a destroyer, that HM is the "Doc."
Me, I loved to travel, which is why...
 
Neither...the Air Force is the best branch!!! BUT...if you had had to choose...the quality of life in the Navy is far better. Take it from me...my brother is in the Army and he's deployed 5 times (15 months) out of the 7.5 years he's been in :(
 
i too faced this dilemna. at first navy was top of my list but ended up choosing army. i didnt want to work under neon lights on a ship, stuck at sea in peace and war.

i love being in the field, walking on my own two feet. the army is like a camping trip. the navy has their boot camp in doors because they are working in doors. and no its not the romantic sea voyage you imagine.

still don't go by what i say or what others say. both departments are the only ones i would ever consider joining after checking every single service.

they are big, they offer the most opportunities.

if you go army, get m6 (lpn) in your contract not just 68w
 
Depends on what part of medicine you would like to do for the long term.
Both Navy and Army have advantages. Navy you do travel more but being on a ship of 5000 --- could become routine in a short period of time.
Being in an Army field hospital with an active war could improve your skills quickly.

Both are honourable. Thank you for considering being in the military.
 
It's all POV or, point-of-view. Since I'm all Navy, I'll go ahead and tell you that the Navy offers better benefits for its members and you can get your bachelor's faster through the Navy. I won't leave the Army out, though, so I'll say that in the Army you'll get more field experience and more action. So, it all comes down to what YOU like. Do you like Action, field experience? or do you like better benefits and more educational opportunities?

Oh. what YOU think is a better life is a lot more different than what I think is a better life so, take a seat and write down what you want in life OR google the army website and then the navy website, compare the two and write down Pros/cons of each! email me if you have any other questions =]
 
Life will be better for you as a Corpsman in the navy, granted you don't go FMF. FMF Corpsman are Marines who get paid by the Navy. The Marine Corps does not maintain its own Medic Corps, and as a department of the Navy, uses Navy Corpsman (FMF Corpsman) for that role.

Life in the Army is hard because of their current involvement in the war effort in the Middle East. You will MOST LIKELY do a tour in Iraq or Afghanistan as an army medic.

As a Corpsman, you MAY do a tour in Iraq, but if you are stationed on ships or whatever, you'll eat better, sleep more soundly, and enjoy better travel benefits than the average soldier.

Still, if you're interested in being a war hero or in contributing directly to the efforts of the service members in theater, you can still do that in the Navy as an FMF Corpsman. The quality of life is just better, in general, for sailors from my point of view.

EDIT: Actually, FMF may not be open to Females. I'm not sure. If you want to go to war, Navy may not be the best for you in that case. If you don't want to, that should pretty much make your decision for you.
