Is Liberty University a Joke?

From what I hear, a liberty university degree worth as much as a university of phoenix degree. Is it true that many employers throw out resumes from LU? Is it because of the crazy theology or the 96% acceptance rate?
So from what I'm reading.... you agree that people don't respect it as a competitive school. You don't think it's right, but you acknowledge the fact that many people think its a joke.
 
Ohhhh goodness. My sister is currently attending Liberty, but I have many friends who are and have attended and/or graduated from LU. 1/2 of them have current jobs in the field in which they majored, and the other 1/2 are still working on their degrees. In my opinion, the acceptance rate is a beautiful thing, a welcoming thing. Just because big universities and ivy league colleges have a lower acceptance rate does not necessarily mean you will definitely get hired after you receive a degree, or that your resume will sit on the top of the stack. And I agree about the crazy theology. I am not my sister, therefore I am not even remotely interested in LU. I myself would prefer a bigger, more reputable college. Play on your strengths and go for what you believe is right for YOU.
 
Liberty University is a serious school with full region accreditation and programmatic accreditation for several professional degrees (including Law).

Yes, some bigots will throw out a job application listing a Liberty University degree, even though the applicant is very well educated.
