Is leylandii poisonous to our alpacas that are eating it?

We live in the UK and my dad is a landscape designer, he was taking down 8 conifer trees leylandii and grinding them up, I have used it as wood chip around the garden and it has a very nice smell, it is a disinfectant as well I believe. However, we put the rest down the stables in the field as it was a mud bath. the horse seems to be fine with it but the three alpacas seem to be eating it, we are worried as it could be poisonous, in which case we will have to separate them and take it all away.

Thanks
