I have been on 3 mgs. per day for 3 years on and off. when they take it away I have to admit I have a hard time . you are on a low dose and they should or most docs take you off slowly. I hope you do well, good luck.

I've been on .5 mg for about 7 years. I'm supposed to take it Twice a day but I do alright with taking one every evening. It no longer serves the purpose it was originally prescribed for which was for sleep problems. I have had a very hard time trying to taper from this small amount.

I have read in several forums that klonopin is hard to withdraw from. I have been on .5 mg for 2 weeks now. I take 1/2 pill in the am and 1/2 pill at night. Has anyone been on that dosage and had withdrawal issues?

Also, was klonopin helpful to you?

Thanks

I would be sleeping all day at that high of a dosage. Yesterday I took 1 mg and was out for a few hrs.

I need to stay at the low dose prescribed....and only for as long as needed.....

You have only been taking 1 mg. for two weeks so you should have absoutely no problem if you were to stop. I on the other hand have been taking 2-4 mgs. per day for about 3 yrs. now. If I were to suddenly stop, yep I would definitely have a problem.
I read something about clonopin withdrawl not too long ago. This article went into detail about the method used to detox a person from this drug. I found/find this hard to believe --really, really hard; however it said that they switch you over to VALIUM (yeah, right!) and slowly, methodically, lower your valium dosage at set intervals, until the "dirty deed is done dirt cheap". At this point, you certainly don't have anything to worry about.

Is Clonopin helpful to me? The very first time I took it (1/2 mg.), I thought WOW, why wasn't I on this "answer to my prayers" pill before. No more anxiety or panic attacks. Now the WOW is gone (do ya think?), however it still takes the edge off.

What are you on it for?

I am only taking .5 mg a day.....1/2 am and 1/2 pm.....I am on it for gen anxiety.....

I have had a rough couple of days on klonopin....sleepy in the daytime and restless at night....I am going to ask my dr for a taper off schedule....I have only been on it 3 weeks so it shouldn't be too hard...I hope....

oh..plus it is giving me headaches and nausea

Confusedman , You are on a very small amount, I do not know how you could taper much more. If I read you right you take no more than .25 per day. I was on 3 mgs per day, forced to go cold turkey. It was a rough withdrawl but I got through it, shaking , anxiexty ridden all the way took a few weeks.I would go back on it if I could because my attacks are severe and often, still waiting tosee new doc. I just want to be normal klonipin does this for me. I do wish you the best. you sound like a great person.

angel, you are right I am on a small amt...

.5mg a day.....but My system is really sensitive.....plus, I don't want to get addicted to it......

you sound like a great person as well....

when do you see the new doc?

I have heard some do have the same problems you are having , I think you will do ok tapering off. maybe your doc will give you something else Ihope the best for you.

just took .25mg.......feeling very anxious this morning....will see if it helps...will TRY not to take any more today....one day at a time is all I can handle

Ive been taking 1 mg per day for about a month to counteract the jitters from Prednisone. Ive already built a tolerance to it because I can barely tell Ive taken one anymore. It definitely helps with the nervousness that prednisone can cause but I dont get that loopy feeling at all now. Hope Im not getting dependent on it but it does improve my state of mind.

I do not know when I will they said a few weeks a few weeks ago, so I wait . It's a clinic for the poor. My m.d. gave me 10 klonipin to last 30 days and no more until I get in. I will use them only for panic attacks. thanks for caring.
