Is jail breaking and iPod touch worth it?? (Please Answer)?

I just bought an iPod touch and want to jailbreak it, but I' am scared that I might mess it up by jail breaking it. Is it legal and does it void my warranty, or mess with my memory. I need logical answers please.
(My iPod is 16 gb and 2generation)

hahahahh "its illegal" lol since when does apple make laws? it does however void ur warrantylol...thats funny, its awesome ONLY if u actually keep up with it. downloading icons, wallpaper, custom sliders, sounds, etc. but if u dont know how to navigate through cydia etc. its not worth it. i have nvr had any problems. THE ONLY problem u cna see is slower processing speed and the battery life depreciates a little faster.
