Is it wrong of a moderator to swear?

Wrong no, not wrong. Usually shows a lack of intelligence. I would say it's wrong if the mod is just venting at someone, but just in an off-topic way then meh who cares.

How about as an exception to one's normal posting style, in an exceptional circumstance, in order to indicate an exceptional emphasis, much as my own use of such language. :whistling

well, shows lack of a civilized vocabulary imho :)
but we arent a civilized community are we? eh maybe 50/50
hard to tell right now from what I've been reading in various areas of this community

What about those of us who merely desire access to the entire palette of words? :whistling

The fact that one chooses to use certain words does not mean that one lacks a "civilized vocabulary" nor does it mean that one is unintelligent.

As j2 says it's more a case of having a wider range of words to choose from. Allowing for a greater range of nuance and connotation.

I swear however much I fucking want to, yet I actually have papers showing my vocabulary is a fair bit above average, if not far above, in two languages (including english).

My measure* of a poor education/stupidity/uncivilized language, involves very poor punctuation, incapability to construct proper sentences, and constant misspellings.

EDit: *It neither starts nor ends with language, though.
