getting it.? I do not use Facebook (I think it's stupid) but I am thinking of doing this iWeb thing just to make my own site and whatnot. I think Apple's products/applications are very convenient when used with one another. I don't know if it's worth it though to pay $99 a year to do it. What are the pro's and cons?

I understand about Facebook being stupid, it is in no way a professional level of networking. Unlike that other man, he has no idea.

I take it you mean MobileMe as .Mac no longer exists.

I think it is awesome, there were problems back when it started with the site not working etc. But its really good now, the email is second to none. I have almost 20000 messages in my inbox and its still as nippy as ever. If you use more than one computer (Mac or PC) it syncs contacts and calendars effortlessly.

The iWeb is pretty basic when it comes to internet platforms, it does not support PHP or MYSQL. But it is great to use for a site which is made with iWeb on a Mac.

You also get the Gallery App, which (shh, don't tell mother) but I brought it becasue of. It is a really really nice way of showing photos, and then you can link those photo albums to your iWeb website.
Which is just amazing.

You also get iDisk so you get 20GB (minus the mail storage) of space to use. Which is a massive amount to back up all your important documents photos and movies. I use it mostly for my school work to take to and from school.

So $99 seems a bit steep but look up costing for a hosting service a decently named email address insted of Yahoo or Hotmail, which I never like using as they just seem unprofessinal, @me.com is just so nice to say on the phone, and simple so people are not confused, hotmail can lead to all sorts of problems.

Just to add another side to the argument, check out Google aswell they offer a lot of this stuff for free. Google Mail, Google Contacts, Google Calendar, Picasa Web Albums and Google Sites. However I dont like the interface, MobileMe is so much more cleaner and works with my iPhone better.

My wife, 52, is an actress (currently appearing in the latest Bank of America commercial( who uses Facebook for professional networking - advance news of auditions, open calls etc., and she is quite amused by your statement that it is "stupid"
