Is it worth spending $2500 to fix my car?

ok, my whole transmission is totally dead. the mechanic said it will cost me $2500 to get the WHOLE thing replace. so my logic is that a transmission is pretty half a car so i would be getting like half a new car ( LOL ). but i bought it for $7000. so do you guys think it is worth fixing it? i am using my brother's car while he's at college so i am managing but i will need to get my own before summer. so get it fix? sell it? donate it? leave it around? oh yea, it is a DODGE stratus 2001 4 door. exterior and interior is great looking
i think the milage is around 107k? its in the shop i dont know for a fact
 
What is the condition of the engine, depends if that is your only expensive consideration in the new 2-3 years.
 
Get another Gear system. You can find a large selection of cars parts online. you only should choose the relevant part
