...range and extra features? Hi, Im looking to buy a PS3, I feel 700$ is too expensive for the 80 GB, Is there any chance if the 120 GB be any cheaper (due to introductory offers), will the extra features of the 120 GB, be worth the wait.

The 80gb is only $500. They stopped making them and now the 40gb is only $400. On June 12th, the 80gb is being re-released in a limited edition finish, dual shock 3 controller, and Metal Gear Solid 4. This package will be $500. No 120gb is coming out.

If you want, you can buy a 40gb PS3 and buy a 2.5" SATA hard drive and replace the hard drive in the PS3.

But if you want backwards compatibility, wait until June 12, and then buy the new 80gb and replace the hard drive.

well first of all the 80GB PS3 is only 500 dollars, and i dont think they are going to have a 120 GB PS3 and if they are it is defiantly going to be more money. well i was told that the 120 GB was just a rumor,

The 120gb PS3 is just a rumour mate, at this time sony hasn't officially confirmed this model, but they're not denying it, the 160gb PS3 is also rumoured and it is in similar speculation.

If you want a 120gb PS3 then get a cheap ordinary PS3, replace the hard drive and get a similar laptop sata aerial harddrive which is about 2.5 inches. There are many tutorials on youtube about manually updating the harddrive of a PS3.

The 120GB PS3 sounds like a strong console.

If yer very patient, then wait and see if sony does release something like that. They always ALWAYS lavish the later consoles with some hot kit. However they will change features they feel aren't necessary in the later PS3's e.g Flash card readers, Backwards Compatibility etc. - like the 40gb.

If you can't wait then get a cheap PS3 and update the harddrive manually!

I hope the 120GB PS3 does come it'll give us more choice instead of that crappy 40GB version. If it doesn't than don't be suprised cuz thats sony for yer.

The best deal I reckon you can get for a PS3 is in North America on June 12th, a special 80gb bundle is coming out with MSG4, Dualshock 3 (with sixaxis) at a price of $499/$599.

If you live in Europe like me (UK) you only get the 40gb T-T

Hope that helps!

As far as I know, there is not going to be a 120GB PS3. The 120GB PS3's were just rumors that came about because Sony stopped supplying 80GB PS3's to the U.S., but it turned out that Sony was planning on bringing out a new 80GB PS3 bundle that will include a Dualshock 3 controller and MGS4 on June 12th.

I don't know where you live, but the 80GB PS3's are just $499 here in the U.S.

you can just buy the cheapest ps3 model you can get and buy a 120 hdd in a computer store and use that.dosent have to be a ps3 hdd.it can be a computer hdd.
