Is it worth it to get a blackberry?

I want a pearl and I'd use it for texting and putting pictures on facebook mostly, I found a plan with fido and it's 3 years and would be around $55 - $60/ month but the phone comes free.
 
I had to use the phone for a few months until I could get the phone I have now and it would always mess up on me. Also, the second day I had it some random scratch came on the screen. I'm not a big fan of the blackberrys.
