I suppose you could go on to do sometihng like a law conversion course, but you don't need a PhD to do that. I dont think theres really much point in doing a PhD unless you want to become a lecturer, or you feel really passionate about it and have the money (or the rents money) to be able to do it without getting yourself in ridiculous ammounts of debt.
Not to say that you cant do things with a PhD in history, its just that doing it won't help you and arguably could be a waste of time
