I've fallen in love with the University of Tennessee. I currently live in Illinois, and in-state tuition here for University of Illinois is $28,000-$31,000. Out of state for Tennessee is $35,000 a year. Would it pay off in the end to attend Tennessee? I would love to move there eventually, and college seems like the perfect opportunity.
My family isn't very well off, and I currently have no college savings. I have a 25 on my ACT and a 3.8 GPA. I'm extremely involved in my community, and with school and sports. Will paying for out of state tuition be worth it in the end? Or will I be devastated and held back with debt for the rest of my life?
I plan on majoring in Speech Pathology and minoring in Elementary Education. HELP!
