Is it weird to text my roommate if he lives with me?

Let’s say I was just in the other bedroom and my roommate was in the other room, would it be weird to text each other or e-mail each other? Same with my neighbor? If we live in the same building and wanted to communicate, we can just knock on their door or get their attention by calling their name. Whats the point of even calling your roommate on his cell, texting, writing him a letter by snail mail, or e-mailing him when he lives with you in the same household or same apartment building?

Ha.
I text my roommate to see if she is a awake, to see if her boyfriend has left (since I don't like him)
She texts me if she is going out but doesnt want to open the door or wake me (we have a lab that likes to maul)

Lot of the time we have class and arnt in the house together and need to communicate.

we even brought back snail mail when I was in another state and found some coupons for her.

haha i would say no it's not really that weird a bit lazy but hey we all do it, i text my friends when they're sat right next to me

They say conversation is dead, and the situation you describe illustrates that point. If you live in the same place, talk to the person face-to-face. Talking in person prevents misunderstood communication. It's also nice to see and hear a live human being talk to you.
