Is it weird to make out with a guy you barely know?

I'm going to a New Year's party this Friday, and there will be gay guys there I have seen before but don't know well. I was considering making out with one (or two), especially since it's a special occasion and we'll be drinking. But I've never really made out with a guy I just met, at least not for a long time...
