I'm a virgin, but I've told him that I was interested. He's had virgins before....but he doesn't seem as interested.

At first read, it looks weird. However, you added a note of caution when you mentioned that you are interested.
Try backing off a bit. He may have other reservations that you are not aware of. Then again, he may be waiting for a "special moment".
In any event, make sure you are really prepared to lose your virginity, physically and mentally. Others cannot caution you enough about safe sex. Be prepared.
When the time is right, it will happen. In the meantime, enjoy each other.
