Is it weird that my cats have designated their litterboxes?

I am 33 weeks pregnant and have not cleaned the litterbox in... over 33 weeks lol. But my husband was cleaning it the other day and he made me go look at it before he scooped. We have two litterboxes, and the cats use one to pee, and one to poop lol. I thought by having 2 litterboxes for 2 cats, they would each use their own, but no, they use one for pee and one for poop... Is that weird?
 
Yes,I think that is weird,but cats go on smell to locate there litter box.It surprises me that they use one for peeing and one for pooping,instead of using one each for both pooping and peeing.On the other hand that could be good,although I don't know how.
 
Nope, not weird at all. Cats have all kinds of different litter routines. Growing up, I once had a cat that would never poop in the litter box in the house; he always had to do it outside. I remember once having to let him out in -40 degree weather because he just couldn't handle it anymore. Needless to say, he went out and did his business and was back inside in less than a couple of minutes.
